I don't get it... (Senator Larry Craig)

Ok, as I said elsewhere, I can see a lot to snicker and laugh at in recent events. Heck I have proved my Neanderthal backwardness more than a few times. But why is Senator Larry Craig resigning instead of at least serving out the end his current term?

I know that he is a proven liar; but so are most, if not all, politicians. That is what politicians do. And he is certainly not resigning because he is gay. He says quite adamantly that he is not and the public evidence is flimsy at best. In any case, I don't think that is a crime in either Idaho or Minneapolis.

My understanding is that he was convicted of a local misdemeanour and fined $500. Does anyone think that some other US Senator who drove too fast or perhaps broke a neighbour's window or had a fight with his wife; and then lied to the cops and got fined $500 would have to quit? Larry Craig was NOT convicted of sexual assault, treason, public sex, kiddie porn or invading Iraq.

So why is he quiting?
